It’s been nearly a year since I’ve posted anything on my professional blog. It’s almost painful to say that, but it’s true. I have a ton of excuses and still remained well plugged in to social media and world of ed conversations online; however, I put this part of my online professional world to the side. Here’s the interesting thing….I still blogged more than I ever have in my life this past year. Confused? Let me explain.
I spent the last year blogging for our school. I tried to improve the content that we were sharing beyond simply posting information about events (that’s important stuff too and is there as well) but showcasing our staff as experts and our students as scholars. I explored using videos and interviews as a method of sharing more with the community and found that our videos were the highest viewed items out of anything else we posted. We would post probably three to four items to our blog a day, and this in turn would go out to associated social media.
It was a year of blogging discovery and at the end I had one of those “I’m forgetting something” moments and realized…I hadn’t blogged for me…at all.
Thus, here I am. I pulled out the dusty WordPress blog and am trying to find my online space in the world! Stay tuned.
