We recently had the chance to enter the 2016 Vermont Access Network Video Challenge. Selecting “parody” as their genre and “I am glad I didn’t turn off the lights” as the theme of the contest, the students came up with this amazing idea themselves! Other contest rules required the use of a jar of olive and a paper clip, as well as including the phrase “we’re not in Kansas anymore.” With all those challenges in place our scholars rocked it!!!
When we first saw the ground rules for the competition the adults started brainstorming…me…the teacher…the music teacher…we all started trying to think of what we could do with this. But it was the kids that came up with the story. It was a nice reminder that sometimes we just need to give it right over to the kids…and they can do something as amazing as this!
