What smells like applesauce?

This past week we started a new practice for us of having central office administration visit schools individually (in addition to our regular meetings with admin) and have a set amount of time to focus on that individual school and lead learner (thank you @betavt).  It’s been a great experience on so many levels.  We’ve been able to provide principals with timely answers to questions, brainstorm ideas as a collective, collaborate and build team sensibilities and then there’s just the power and purpose of reminding us all of what we work for everyday.  A big part of each meeting involves visiting classrooms, connecting with staff and just taking in the culture of the school.  On this particular day we were able to see students in Kindergarten and preschool work on creating some applesauce made from apples collected during a recent field trip.  Amazing experience…and if you listen closely you’ll catch a scholar’s message to me when I got a little too close to some apple slices.
